REVERSE ADVENT CALENDAR FOOD PANTRY

We encourage you to put aside an item of non-perishable food each day of advent for the food pantry. Most needed items are:

Food especially wanted: Peanut butter, egg noodles, mac & cheese, spaghetti O’s, soup with meat or potatoes, kids cereal, toilet paper, liquid laundry detergent, diapers, dishwashing soap, toothpaste, shampoo

Food can be dropped off at church each week or at the end of Advent and will be delivered to the Food Pantry by the Mission Committee. We have done this project for several years now and it always helps to make Covenant the biggest donor of food for the year to the Northside Food Pantry.

REV. ERNEST W GLENN TOY STORE

This year, the Mission Committee is partnering with Christ Presbyterian Church in Milwaukee to support their annual Christmas Toy Store. Christ Church has hosted the Rev. Ernest W Glenn Toy Store for over 50 years. Children between the ages of birth and 12 years of age visit the store and receive an age-appropriate book, toy, board game and hat/glove set. Last year they served over 600 children.

We will be collecting the following items to give to the Toy Store:

  • Toys
  • Games
  • Coloring books
  • Crayons/Markers
  • Stuffed Animals
  • Balls
  • Mittens/Gloves
  • Hats
  • Scarves
  • School Supplies
  • Dolls
  • Cars/Trucks
  • Puzzles

We will begin collecting on Sunday November 19, and all donations need to be received by Sunday, December 10. Monetary donations are also accepted – please note they are for the Toy Store. DO NOT wrap gifts.

If you would be interested in volunteering on the day they give out the gifts – Saturday, December 16, 9am-1pm, please contact Pastor Jenny.

Advent Devotionals

We hope you will choose one that stands out to you (one that calls your name). Take it home, read it, and when you’re done with it (whether that’s this year or in five years), bring it back so someone else can appreciate it.
