Children in Worship
Children are ALWAYS welcome in worship at Covenant.
We also have a wonderful nursery for age 4 and younger. In addition to our adult caregiver, our nursery always has a volunteer church member who has undergone background checks and training.
We also offer Sunday School classes for KG-9th grade age children and youth. Children and Youth begin in worship with their parents. After the Time with Children they are dismissed to their Sunday School classes. Children who go to the nursery will sometimes go before worship begins and sometimes go during the service—either is completely fine.
However, children are ALWAYS welcome to be present for any and all of our services. Our members love to model what it means to worship together and are glad to make sure children feel included. There are Children’s Bibles in every pew, Children’s Bulletins and colored pencils, and worship bags available that have quiet activities for kids to do during worship.
We know children wiggle and talk and make noises and sometimes even run down the aisle. God loves them and so do we. We encourage parents to quietly explain the various parts of worship and help their children to participate. And if you need more space, there is a children’s corner in the narthex (the space behind the sanctuary) where you can spread out and find rocking chairs too.
